This is Charlotte in the backyard with one of her school buddies. When I picked Charlotte up today, she was already trolling for a play date. Because I usually have trouble thinking more than 15 minutes in front of me, she has become accustomed to planning these things for herself. I'm a very happy facilitator. It's just that I have learned from my wife that looking too far down the road isnt always a good idea because, chances are, plans will change. And so I am a spur of the moment type of guy. When it comes to professional life, this is something I've had to make a determined effort to improve because, as far as teaching goes, there is something to be said for continuity and predictability for the children. But once I step out of the classroom, I like to cast of the shackles of the calendar. Anyway, when Audrey came over we spent 15 minutes enjoying the fresh snow in the backyard, about 25minutes eating snack, and another 15minutes playing Max The Cat (check family pastimes games), and then she had to go. But everyone was so much happier for the rest of the afternoon. And there is just no way I could have planned it any better.
