Soup spoon

//www.youtube.com/get_playerI am sure that as the father of three daughters I will encounter many mysterious things throughout the course of parenthood. I thought I would document this one for the sake of posterity.

For the better part of three months I have been trying to get Arden to eat food from a spoon. She has routinely denied me.

Tonight, during dinner, Charlotte jumped up from the table, grabbed a small spoon for Arden, and offered her some broccoli soup. Arden immediately began eating from the spoon as if doing so was part of her daily routine.

How is it possible that one day she will not do something for me and the very next she will do that same thing for her older sister? Did I do something wrong when I first began offering her food from the spoon? Or did Charlotte just somehow know that she was in the right time in the right place? All of us sitting around the table eating with spoons together… To me, that seems like a perfectly sensible time to try again to me. Thank goodness she was there!
