Recently, Charlotte has shown a strong interest in food preparation. I've been letting her help me make dinner and she seems to derive a lot of satisfaction from getting to cut things up with a knife. Anyway, since the start of camp she has been determined to make her own lunch every night. Seeing as she is about to head into grade 1, and full days of school, neither Hil nor I have tried to discourage her in anyway. Obviously, as evidenced by the large amount of margarine in the middle slice of bread, she still needs a little guidance here and there. But, I like where this trend is going. And as soon as she learns how to spread the margarine on her own, I'll make sure she starts wearing, at minimum, an apron.
