Street car Tuesday’s are back

Last fall I had a nice Tuesday routine with ruby that saw us riding the rails every or every other Tuesday. We had a variety of destinations that almost always focused around visiting a bakery. Today, it was time to find that groove again.

Last week I was out for dinner and had the good fortune to rekindle my relationship with loukoumades. Literally translated from Greek, loukoumades means “the best thing that mankind has ever done with flour, honey, and grease”. Imagine a deep fried honey infused dumpling and there you have it. They are incredible, and not easy to find west of Yonge street. My local Greek bakery stopped making them. I honestly can't imagine why. Whether you eat them with cinnamon or without, they taste amazing. Regardless, we hopped on the streetcar this morning and headed east to the Danforth and I tried to keep up with all of Ruby's questions along the way while she tried her best to navigate the escalators without my assistance. And Arden mostly just watched and smiled at her fellow subway passengers. I am quite sure that she improved the quality of more than a few people's commutes this morning!

Athens bakery. At $3.00/dozen, it's pretty hard to go wrong.
