When streetcar Tuesday doesn’t go so smoothly…

1. Just a couple of kids riding the rails. Streetcar tuesday started out on a pretty good footing this week.

2. Ruby insisted that she ride the escalator on her own – and when she got to the top, and at the exact moment when she was suppose to step off what did she do? She turned around and looked down where she had come from. The lip at the top of the moving steps knocked her over and she smacked her forehead. Again. I can’t think of any good place to fall on an escalator. But at the top of the escalator with the subway platform at the bottom of the escalator is certainly one of the worst places I can think of to fall on the escalator. It was a scary moment for me and could have gone very wrong very fast. Thankfully, I was able to grab her before she toppled any further. And I learned my lesson. When we go up, she is in front of me and when we go down she is behind me. This cut was most definitely my fault.

3. The Spencer family has a saying: thank your seat. I forgot to thank our seats as we were getting off the street car and we lost our first mitten of the season. Slightly frustrating to make it through the whole of the journey only to loose the mitten right before we got off at our stop on the way home. Thank goodness we had a few bites of sprinkle doughnut left!
