Awesome trip to the market with Charlotte on January 22, 2017.
We started out on bikes – not quite sure how we would take to the roads here given how busy things are… But it turns out we did just great.
We started our adventure at the money exchange where Charlotte and the proprietor worked out how much Cambodian Riel we should receive based on the exchange rate.
From laundry soap to goldsmiths to hairdressers to housewares to Mouldy eggs to massive snails to fresh fish to dried fish to incredible selection of fruit the market had some of everything.

The highlight of the trip was our discovery of a bakery. Although the era of French colonialism has passed, the memory of how to bake incredible bread still remains. This was a huge treat.
Cannot imagine a better morning adventure for eight dollars!

MARKETS ARE MY FABOURITES! I’m a bit jealous since I love Markets and I always go to one whenever and wherever I travel. There’s no better way in my mind to get s bit of a local flavour and insight. You can see what the locals eat and you get a lesson on the economy.
Charlotte, I’m glad you found a bakery!! You’ll have to tell me all about it
Sounds like a terrific morning!!

The eggs are covered with mould. It grows on the bird turd on the eggs and somehow adds flavour.
