- They allow you to cross a river without getting wet

- Where do bridges come from?
- What culture first made bridges?

Luke just completed a unit in school called Strong Structures. He built a structure out of popsicle sticks and another with pipe cleaners. I think that he will be interested in your bridge research too.

Girls, your project on bridges is interesting
Here are three questions for you
1. Identify three different design types of bridges based on how they hold up the part that you walk on or drive over. (Hint: think about how you can hold something up over a gap like a river or canyon)
2. What kinds of materials are used to build bridges? Why? Does the shape of the material matter?
3. Where is the longest bridge in the world? (hint: it’s in Canada, but where?)
