It’s 10pm in Thunder Bay and no one is sleeping

Day 2 and we covered a lot of ground. Fancy cold breakfast, including the “one of the best cups of coffee” Hil has ever had.

Pictographs.

An impromptu visit to the beach at Terrace Bay

Lots of scenic views of Lake Superior in all its majesty. Superior is a fitting name.

A very stirring visit to the monument to Terry Fox that is just east of Thunder Bay. This monument is placed just about where Terry took himself off the road and it is truly a fitting memorial to a Canadian hero.

And dinner.

In the good news department:

  • We are all getting along
  • Arden is making up songs for us on the ukulele
  • We are managing to take turns DJing in the car
  • The snacks have been excellent
  • The weather has been perfect for driving and The roads are in excellent condition for driving

In the not so good news department:

  • Drew forgot his sleeping bag
  • Drew forgot s toque (it’s cold up this way!)
  • Charlotte has a cold – right on schedule post three weeks at camp

  2. Just in case the Snaps are wondering: Yes, your hardcore fans are expecting these road trips and the blog to continue in perpetuity. No, it will not be weird to be on road trips with your whole family when you are 38. Yes, it is a suitable criteria for assessing potential life partners that they commit to joyful participation in Snap Travel.

So glad the blog is back! Plus, I can’t wait for the pic of Drew’s new camo toque picked up at a Canadian Tire in Kenora. Rock on.
