Impact
As a teacher of young children, and as a father, I am always wondering about the ways in which I can achieve maximum impact on the people in my care. As far as learning experiences go, I firmly believe that time with family is the most important learning that goes on during childhood and the…… Continue reading Impact
Hoodoos
There is a fascinating geological formation in Drumheller, Alberta called a Hoodoo (who-do). It’s a hard sandstone cap overtop of soft clumped sand. Over time, the elements wear away the soft clumped sand and leave the sandstone cap producing an hourglass shaped feature that is worth at least a few moments of contemplation. I do know that the facility is worthy of the designation of being a national museum. As…… Continue reading The Canadian Human Rights Museum

Scanning some City of Winnipeg promotional materials I came across an advertisement for a visit to the Royal Canadian Mint. Being a bit of a nerd, and recalling a recent visit to Ottawa where I saw a very long line up to get into the mint, I thought we might have better chances to get…… Continue reading Money Factory

Assinaboine Park is enormous. Sports fields of all shapes and sizes. Gardens. A working model steam train to ride. Demonstration gardens. And so much more that we didn’t see.
