For some reason or another, the nap routine is falling of the rails. Or perhaps, judging from the screams coming from upstairs and the fact that I finally got out of there after 20minutes of kdified ABBA music, has fallen off the rails. This spells bad news for me and the rest of my family. Nap is key. It provides a few basic minutes of sanity with the infant to get reaquainted after the morning’s shenanigans, make a plan for diner, and get my own head in check.
As for the ABBA, normally, I don’t have any problem with kids music. And the kid oriented versions of Radiohead, Eagles, and Bob Marley tunes offer an even more palatable alternative to some of the more standard fare. But we all have our limits – and ABBA is mine.

Drew! Try this! I play it to my students at sleep time and they just pass right out.
