Jays tickets were half price for kids under 14 on Saturday afternoon and RA Dickey was pitching and ever since reading his book I’ve wanted to go see him. Despite the fact that he got smoked, we had a pretty good time. I cracked open a lot of peanuts, answered a lot of questions about baseball and how it works, climbed a lot of stairs (we were 5 rows from the very top of the Rogers Centre), answered a lot more questions, rode the street car, got slushies, and both Charlotte and Ruby got sunburns (I guess putting sunscreen on my fair haired little gems once in the morning just isn’t enough). Charlotte was pretty captivated with the game. Ruby was too busy flirting with the people who were sitting near us and climbing all over the seats to be interested in the game.
Some of my favourite lines from the afternoon:
Charlotte: It must be so hot up here because we are closer to the sun.
Charlotte: Is that really the real CN Tower.
Ruby: Why is it only boys playing?
