Big breakthrough

Arden has been sitting on the potty for about 1 month now. Not using it. Just sitting there. We’ve been counting while she sits. Reading while she sits. Singing while she sits. All the while just waiting for that first time. We’ve also been letting her wander around the house without a diaper – and she has certainly taken to not wearing one – recently we’ve been going into her room in late in the evening in order to make sure it’s still on as she has figured out how to take them off… And then tonight – in the middle of bed time stories she got up, walked away from the story, went into her room by herself, sat down on the potty and peed. She came back and told Hil about it and we were suspicious of her self report so we went to check it and sure enough she had delivered. It felt like a big deal and there was a lot of rejoicing, dancing and singing. She was very proud of herself and it was a great family moment. I don’t know if Charlotte and ruby somehow have some kind of memory of learning this process themselves – but they have been remarkably patient and supportive of Arden. It has been incredible to watch.

Anyway – documenting this stuff sometimes feels as though it might be a little to much information – maybe a little more details then should be shared. what can I say? It was an exciting moment.
