Highlands Steamboat

Very fun and full day on a whirlwind tour of the Cameron Highlands. This area of Malaysia is very tourist oriented and more developed then we expected.

Started the day with by visiting Buddha. Helped set the tone.

Encountered some awesome critters at a butterfly farm.

Came face to face with a few exotics.

Samples a variety of flavoured honies at a bee farm and bought Uncle Ryan a full set of these larger than life bad boys for his new side hustle. Expect a shipping container soon.

Visited the BOH tea plantation and enjoyed a factory tour and some delicious tea.

And enjoyed a terrific steamboat dinner – a traditional fondue type meal where you cook your own meal in a broth that is heated right at the table with a charcoal fire!

Very full day.

  2. A real steamboat?

I hope The Gingersnaps got a good look at the steam engine and learned a bit about how steam engines work. Good lessons in physics and good learnings about ENGINEERING can be had from steam engines.

    The butterflies look beautiful

Coincidentally, Uncle Ryan and I just back from buying the lumber for his bee hives. We will be building two to start. He has detailed plans and instructions and this project is causing some big clean ups and organization in the Man Cave so it’s great. By the time you get back he should have his first batch of bees!

  3. Could the steamboat dinner/broth idea work here in southern Ontario?
