3 Ginger Snaps

Some days we pack so much into a day, it’s hard to share it all, especially when we don’t have a good internet connection. So here are some pics from our day trips in the Cameron Highlands – while these pictures are only a week old, it feels like a lifetime ago.

We were thrilled to go strawberry picking…I don’t think the owner of the farm could believe how much we picked. We spent our weekly food budget in strawberries…but it was worth it! Fruit and veggies were hard to come by at restaurants but we found lots on the farms – I guess most of the produce was being exported because we couldn’t get much on our dinner plates!

After we consumed our weight in strawberries, I asked the girls how they were: “we like the Wallace strawberries better!” There you go Wallace family!

We also checked out a bee farm and a beautiful flower garden. We found very creative uses for old tires…who knew tires could be decorative elements. All the pathways were made of tires that were filled in with soil and rocks – it worked really well and seemed like a resource use of a material in abundance.

With the long growing season, warm temperatures and daily rain, the flowers are out of this world!

So much to see and experience in the Cameron Highlands. But one of the best parts was the cooler temperatures – a nice reprieve from the heat of the rest of the country. I think this was the first time we had our sweatshirts out in months!
